A person who laced sweets with tranquilliser and gave them to children at a summer camp in the region has confessed to sexual offenses against two boys who were between nine and ten.

The accused was detained after eight minors and an older person became sick at the facility in the summer month.

The senior citizen, from that region, admitted guilt to a multiple criminal counts when he appeared at the courthouse on Friday.

However, he refused to admit one particular crime he was charged with, which was concerning a young boy.

Ruben was held in detention prior to a additional proceeding on 28 November.

'Sweet game'

The prosecutor, prosecuting, outlined the criminal behavior to the court.

She explained his targets were disadvantaged youngsters who were attending a summer program which he operated.

The man engaged in a "sweet game" with the children, the prosecutor explained, in which he would go into the boys' rooms when they were preparing to sleep and request they to ingest treats "rapidly".

She informed the proceedings the defendant had conducted this practice with the children "repeatedly", and minors had earlier experienced illness the subsequent day.

She stated the defendant had been able to explain this repeatedly as the youngsters being "overstimulated by activities", until his family member had suspicions in July 2025.

The prosecutor added: "This year his stepson had suspicions about the situation, with valid cause.

"They chose" to investigate in the individual's items."

The prosecutor stated materials including lubricant, Vaseline and injection devices were discovered, and his stepson contacted the authorities about his concerns.

She stated the defendant proceeded to conduct the "sweet game" with six youngsters that night - July 26th - and they were all sick the next day.

"Law enforcement" had not responded by that point," she continued.

The oversight body, the investigative body, had stated that it was investigating law enforcement's management of the events.

Mrs Prior said the children were unable to walk properly due to their sickness, so Ruben's stepson contacted the law enforcement a second time.

She stated the defendant then conducted the "treat game" in a area of five children.
